There is a bit of adjustment in the support arm itself- allowing you to adjust it up by a 16th or so. Here’s a tip: If you purchase the rear support as well, you’ll notice that the aluminum support brackets are tapped and include a ‘set screw’... The extension is a great add to the Bosch 4000 saw. Placing the washer on the inside bolt of the two keeps the extension fairly level throughout the span of the extension. The extension is all steel construction and uses aluminum brackets to attach to the underside of the table. My left side support arrived with the threads missing from one of the support rods. The extra support is great for crosscutting long boards and definitely saves time not having to setup sawhorses or roller supports. I remedied the problem with one 1/4″ internal tooth lock washer placed between the bracket and the body of the saw on both the front and rear. I picked up a similar thumb screw/ set screw from my local hardware store and added the same functionality to my left side support. A tip to the perfectionist group – the extension does have a minor amount of slop/droop (about 1/16″ in my case) when extended.
