dewalt buffer I’ve worked with Makita, Milwaukee, and DeWalt buffers. It has the power and variable speed range to correct any imperfections that can be corrected with a high speed rotary buffer. And yes, I do use the buffer to wax my cars because Pro’s products are great & I’m experienced with the Dewalt. I was tired of using the old Sears random orbital buffer. For beginners I would recommend keeping the rpm at 1000 & remember to keep the buffer moving & you should have no problems. In fact, I use a 2000 watt power inverter to power it and it works perfectly (many variable speed tools don’t work well with power inverters). The features of this DeWalt polisher are great. I’ve seen DeWalts last years with little or no maintenance. So I took the plunge and spent about $150 for this Dewalt polisher. In my opinion if you are looking for a high speed polisher this is the purchase to make — it’s a proven tool from a respected manufacturer that’s been around for years. When you’re doing a lot of buffing around corners, curves, angles, and detail work around lights and horns, it pays to have a lighter machine. I’ve found that for the weight and agility, the DeWalt is the absolute best. Now I’ve tried other orbital polishers. It’s solid & built to last, is variable speed fm 1000-3000 rpm, and works great. I use the foam waffle pads, #1 Polish, & Cherry Finishing Wax from Pro on most cars & you can’t argue with the results. I love my DeWalt. Even at low speed, this polisher has the amps and the torque to quickly heat up your finish–so I proceeded with caution. The variable speed trigger is great – you can start off really slowly (reducing compound splatter), and you can increase as needed. By the other side of polishing my Max, I was up to around 1800 RPM and kicking rain etching/tree sap butt. With a little more courage and a slightly more abrasive polishing compound (I was using Meguiar’s wax/cleaner) I could easily see these remnants disappearing completely. No doubt about it. I got the wool polishing pad on quickly, and proceeded to try out a test area on my car.
