Porter-Cable 39332 Vacuum Hose for 1-Inch O.D. Dust Ports ...
To get the hose to connect to my shop vac hose (which is the larger 2" size, I don't know the exact measurement) I had to buy another adapter called a universal adapter Shop-Vac Universal Tool Adapter #906-87-00. I bought this hose to adapt my Porter-Cable 894PK 2-1/4 HP GripVac Base, Plunge Base Kit to my shop vac. PC is a 1" end, my miter saw is 2", my vacuum accessories are 1 1/4, my band saw is 2 1/2. The large end fits a standard 2" shop vac hose, then other end steps down several times to fit different things. I recently sanded the finish off of kitchen cabinets with my PC orbital sander with the hose hooked up to a not very powerfull shop vac. The hose would get 5 stars if it were easier to fit to most vacs. I solved the common problem of attaching the hose to the vac this way. It's just a plastic hose. The hose itself is made of quality materials. An ABS (black in color) 1 1/2" coupling measures 2 1/4" on the outside. Basically, I created a 4 1/2" long cylinder that fit inside the vac and inside the adaptor for only a couple of dollars. of 2 1/4" that would snugly fit into the vac and the into the adaptor. The hole in the vac was 2 1/4" and the OS dia. of the adaptor was 2 1/4". of the adaptor was over 2 1/4". I have it connected to my shop vac and it does a good job collecting the stuff that would otherwise be flying through the air. I purchased an adaptor from a local store and it didn't match up with the vac. You cut the universal adapter to fit your equipment. They are only 2" in length, so I glued two of them together using a short piece of ABS pipe.
